A Few Notes on the Job Bank
By Paige Ramsey-Palmer, APR (January 2009)
One of the strengths of any professional organization is that we interact with others who share common interests to help us sift through changes in our lives and side-step the land mines of time. In any economy, some companies are looking for “a few good men/women” and PR individuals are looking for considerate, stable employers offering advancement opportunities. PRSA is pleased to be able to bridge both of these audiences through its Job Bank.
Here are a few notes on the workings of the our PRSA Job Bank. We rely on our members and the community to let us know about positions that are available. Here is my first plea – if you find out about a job opening, please let us know about it. Send the details to me or give me at prpalmer@sacu.com the name or company to contact. I’ll be happy to chase down the particulars for the Job Bank Web site.
If your business is looking for a new PR person, the PRSA Job Bank is a great way to get the information out to well-qualified applicants. Plus, there is no charge for posting a position on our site.
Finally, if you do use the job bank to land a new position, we would love to hear from you. Not only do we want to share in your good news, I would also like to measure the success of this membership service.
We sincerely hope that, in some small way, we’ve helped a few PR careers develop into new horizons.
