Advancing the Profession and the Professional

Giving the Gift of Guidance

This award-winning annual service project was first developed by chapter leaders in the 1990s. Representatives of qualifying non-profit organizations are matched with PRSA members and spend the whole meeting in December developing a mini-PR plan. PR professionals spend one hour consulting with a non-profit organization representative about fine-tuning media messages, planning social events and developing basic public relations plans. This working lunch allows PRSA members to give back to the community by sharing a special gift that only they can give – their expertise.

It’s PRSA’s way of supporting charities and other organizations who contribute so much to our community. The non-profit representatives are also PRSA’s guests for lunch.

Non-profit organizations without dedicated public relations or marketing funds are given first consideration for the program, but all non-profit organizations are invited to apply. Groups interested in participating should submit an application, which is usually due in October or November.
